Advisories Advisory update: From the Licensing and Accreditation department of the Law Society of Ontario: NCA candidates enrolling in the 2025 Law Practice Program (LPP)

The May 15, 2025 Advisory indicated that NCA candidates who are completing their final NCA requirements by early June and intend to register for the 2025 Law Practice Program (LPP) commencing this August, have a deadline to register of July 15, 2025.

To register for the LPP, you will need to create a DRAFT LPP registration in your licensing application in LSO Connects. The deadline to create a draft LPP registration has been extended to July 7, 2025.

After you create the draft LPP registration, the LSO will adjust your account and advise you when you can complete your registration. You must complete your LPP registration by paying the applicable fee and submitting the registration in LSO Connects by July 15, 2025.

If you have already created a draft registration for the LPP, kindly return to your draft registration in LSO Connects and pay for and submit it by July 15, 2025. If you have already paid for and submitted your LPP registration, no further action is required.

Not registered in the licensing process

NCA candidates who are not registered in the licensing process and who wish to register for the 2025 LPP must submit a licensing application in LSO Connects by June 16, 2025. The LSO will review your licensing application and, provided it is complete, register you in the licensing process. Once registered as a licensing candidate, you can register for the 2025 LPP by creating a draft LPP registration by July 7, 2025, and then paying for and submitting the registration by July 15, 2025.

NCA confirmation of completion

To remain registered in the 2025 LPP, the LSO must receive confirmation from the NCA that you successfully completed your NCA requirements on or before August 7, 2025. If the LSO does not receive this confirmation by August 7, 2025, you will be removed from the 2025 LPP and must complete your experiential training requirement at a later date.

Thank you.
