Canada Post Worker Strike
Canada Post has stopped delivering mail across the country as of midnight, November 15, 2024. There is no inbound or outbound postal service within Canada at this time. You can see the latest information on the strike on the official Canada Post webpage.
The NCA receives many documents from Canada Post, and also normally uses Canada Post’s Small Business services to send out documents. While we hope for a speedy resolution for all concerned parties, the strike will have an immediate impact on our operations. The Canada Post strike will affect the sending of documents from the NCA, both during the strike and for some time after the strike is resolved. Delays are inevitable at this time and completely out of our mutual control.
For NCA applicants who have been issued a Certificate of Qualification (CQ), the strike will not affect your ability to undertake and complete the Bar Licensing process with your chosen law society. The NCA and the law societies share CQ information via a secure web platform. Physical CQs will be mailed out for delivery by Canada Post once service resumes.
We remind you to check your NCA portal to view the status of receipt of documents. If after reviewing your portal you still have questions, please send an email to nca@flsc.ca making sure to indicate your NCA number.
