LAW SCHOOLS Study in Canada or abroad
Canadian Law Schools
We offer a list of approved Canadian law schools to help you choose where to take courses that meet your NCA requirements. We also outline, as best we can, which law schools in other countries meet the NCA’s requirements.
Law schools abroad
The NCA doesn’t keep a list of approved schools for specific countries. In general, if the school is approved by the organization that governs the practice of law in that jurisdiction, the NCA will recognize it. Here are some links to organizations that approve law schools in other countries:
- Australia – Studying Law In Australia site
- England, Wales and Northern Ireland – Solicitors Regulation Authority – Qualifying Law Degree Providers
- India – Bar Council of India- Approved Schools
- Ireland – The Honorable Society of King’s Inns – Schedule of Approved Degrees
- Scotland – Law Society of Scotland – Programs to Qualify as a Scottish Solicitor
- United States of America – American Bar Association – Approved Law Schools (In some cases, schools are approved by the state bar, even though they may not be approved by the American Bar Association. If you attend a state-approved law school, you will not qualify for an NCA assessment.)
