Advisories UPDATED EXAM INFORMATION FROM THE NCA

The Federation of Law Societies of Canada is working actively to expand options for those affected by the cancellation of the NCA’s May exam session. We recognize that the postponement to October of exams in the non-Canadian subjects originally scheduled for May (Contracts, Evidence, Family, Property and Trusts) may create a difficult situation for some candidates, particularly those near the end of the NCA process. The NCA is committed to doing everything possible to minimize the impact changes made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic will have on our candidates. The ongoing public health crisis and uncertainty about its likely duration complicate planning, but we are making every effort to add these non-Canadian subjects to the August exam session. Please be aware that making these arrangements is likely to take a couple of weeks. We will provide an update as soon as arrangements have been made.

The NCA has also been in contact with the law societies and those responsible for the Legal Practice Program in Ontario to explore options for those students affected by the cancellation of the May exams and will post information on any developments as it becomes available.

This is a very difficult situation for everyone and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to find viable solutions.
